The Powers that Be are the forces of nature that affect magick. I have mentioned them before on The Spiritual Realm . They have many other names. The Powers that Be are basically the two sources (good and evil) together. They make up all things along with the source of Odin of course. The Powers that Be have been depicted, even by name, in many popular shows and movies.

In both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, they are depicted (called the Powers that Be) as beings made up of the elements that decide all things. They are not, however, physical beings or entities.

In Charmed, they are known as the elders...a council of angelic beings that decide destiny and fate. This is not even close, but the idea is genuine. The idea that one source of power controls all things in an indirect way is correct.

In The Craft, the Powers that Be are described as mennauh, a being that is engulfed in all things. This is actually more close to the source of Odin (kind of) or the Christian idea of one God that is everywhere and in everyone.

These are all close to the truth, but not quite there. For more information on the Powers that Be, pray. Focus on the energy and feel it inside of you and around you. And by the way, the Powers that Be cannot be invoked, summoned, or conjured...so don't even try... : )
